A Stronger Economy
Communities near major metropolitan areas often develop an imbalance between employment opportunities and housing. Carroll County has already begun to see evidence of this trend; recent data shows that 43 percent of residents commute out of the County for work. This means that the population is growing faster than new job development. It is important to recognize that no county in Georgia, no matter the average price of a home, can prosper without a diverse tax digest. Therefore, continuing to diversify the County’s economy in a way that produces well-paying, quality, sustainable jobs in various business sectors is a clear priority for Carroll County. The recruitment of new businesses, the expansion of existing quality businesses, enhancement of agribusiness, and supporting entrepreneurial ideas must all be part of Carroll United to ensure the County achieves economic diversity.
